Enstone aerodrome was constructed in 1942
for RAF Bomber Command. Its life was principally as
an operational training Unit for Vickers Wellingtons. The RAF
are long since gone, and Enstone Flying Club is now the
largest club on the airfield, with use of the North Side grass runway
26/08.

We head out around the airfield perimiter fence before joining 'Green Lane', and heading West to the northern edge of Heythrop Park. For slightly a shorter (but less pleasant) route, leave the airfield by the main entrance and turn right along the B4022 (no footpath) for about ½ mile and turn right into Green Lane.
